This is my second post , my first one is for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i DBA and as 10g Application Server is now certified & people started using it , I decide to write on 10g Application Server as well. As its quite important to know basics of 10g Application Server so I decided to start with Architecture of 10g Application Server. In my views Architecture of Application Server is Quite important and its quite important to understand Architecture of Oracle Application Server Version 10g . Oracle Application Server broadly consist of Infrastructure Service and Application Server Middle Tier .
10g Infrastructure : Consist of Service which provide infrastructure for 10g Applications. It consist of Services like two broad Services Metadata Repository and Identity Management
10g Middle Tier : Consist of services used by middle tier like Portal and Wireless or J2EE and Web Cache
Metadata Repository : is repository where information is store, MR consist of MR for Identity Management ( OID & SSO) or MR for products ( Portal, Wireless )
Identity Management : consist of Services like
-Oracle Internet Directory (OID)
-Single Sign On (SSO)
-Delegate Administrative Services (DAS)
-Directory Integration & Provisioning Services (DIP)
-Oracle Certifying Authority (OCA)
I'll discuss these in detail later.
